LabKeep Terms of Use

Effective 3 November 2026 · Last updated 3 November 2026

The short version

  • LabKeep and LabKeep Scans help you keep and read your own health records. They are not medical devices and do not give medical advice.
  • Your health data stays on your device. How we handle data is in the Privacy Policy.
  • LabKeep Pro is a yearly subscription sold through Google Play. You cancel it in Google Play. Refunds follow Google Play's rules.
  • The software is provided "as is". If something goes wrong, what we can owe you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are an agreement between you and LabKeep ("we", "us"). They cover:

  • the LabKeep app for Android and iPhone ("the app"),
  • LabKeep Pro, the paid features of the app,
  • LabKeep Scans, the desktop scan viewer for Windows and Mac ("Scans"), and
  • the website labkeep.app.

By installing or using any of them, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app, Scans or the website.

Contact: hello@labkeep.app.

2. Not a medical device, not medical advice

The app and Scans are tools to organise, view and track your own health information. They are not medical devices and have not been cleared or approved by any health authority.

  • They do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and they do not replace a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional.
  • Reference ranges, colours, scores, trends, pattern notes, supplement and medicine notes, and reminders are general information and estimates. Laboratories, methods and individual situations differ.
  • The app reads report photos and files with on-device text recognition. It can misread a value, a unit or a date. Always check what was read against the original report.
  • Always ask a qualified professional before you start, stop or change any medicine, supplement or treatment, and about what your results mean for you.
  • In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not wait for, or rely on, the app or Scans.

3. LabKeep Scans: not for primary diagnosis

Scans displays medical images (such as DICOM files) on a computer. In addition to section 2:

  • Scans is not for primary diagnosis. A diagnosis must be made by a qualified professional using software and displays approved for diagnostic use where they work.
  • Measurements, angles, windowing, image exports and videos made in Scans are for viewing, sharing and discussion only.
  • Clinics and doctors who use the Radiology-center or Doctor modes are responsible for their own professional and legal duties, including patient consent and record keeping.

4. Your data and your responsibility for it

The app and Scans keep your data on your own device. We do not hold a copy and cannot recover it for you. You are responsible for:

  • keeping your device secure, and
  • making and keeping backups (the app offers backup files; Scans keeps its library on your computer).

An app PIN or lock is a screen lock, not encryption. Details: the Privacy Policy.

5. LabKeep Pro (subscriptions)

On Android, LabKeep Pro is sold through Google Play:

  • Price and period. Pro is a yearly subscription. Google Play shows the price in your currency before you buy (in the United States, US$19.99 per year at the date of these terms). Taxes may apply.
  • Introductory offer. When an offer is shown at purchase (for example, a first year at no charge), the offer's terms appear on the Google Play purchase screen. When the offer period ends, the subscription renews at the normal price unless you cancel before that date.
  • Renewal. The subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. Cancel at any time in Google Play (Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policies. Where your local law gives you a right to a refund, that right applies.
  • Purchase check. To unlock Pro, the app sends the Google Play purchase token to our server, which asks Google Play to confirm it and keeps nothing. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Google Play's own terms also apply to a Play purchase.

On iPhone, Pro features may be offered at no charge for a period. If Pro is sold through the App Store, the purchase is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Apple's refund rules, together with these terms where they do not conflict with it.

We may change the features in the free tier or in Pro, or the price for future periods. A price change for an existing subscription is announced through the store, as the store's rules require.

6. Licence to use the software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app and Scans for their intended purpose, under these terms. You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent or redistribute the software, except as the law allows,
  • remove notices, or work around the Pro checks or other protections,
  • use the software to break the law or to process other people's health data without the right to do so.

The software includes open-source components. Their licences are listed in the app (Settings → Open-source licences) and in Scans (its Licences window), and apply to those components.

7. Updates and availability

We may update the app and Scans, and may stop supporting old versions. A very old app version may ask you to update before it continues. We try to keep the software working, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device.

8. No warranty

The app, Scans and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities, and
  • our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us for LabKeep Pro in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by deleting the app or Scans (and cancelling Pro in the store). We may end or suspend your licence if you seriously break these terms. Sections 2, 3, 8, 9 and 12 continue after the terms end.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for an important change we will tell you in the app or on the website before it applies. If you keep using the software after a change applies, you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep any protection that the law of the country where you live gives you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.
